Join Lambda Chi

Dear Incoming TU Freshman,

Hi! My name is Logan Hibbs.  I am a sophomore Sociology and Economics major at the University of Tulsa, and I am the Recruitment Chairman for the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity chapter on campus.

I would first like to congratulate you on your decision to attend TU.  You will find that the University of Tulsa is not only considered one of the most prestigious universities in this region for countless reasons, but it will also be the place where you will make some of the greatest memories with some of the greatest people of your entire life.

That being said, let me transition to the topic of Greek Life at TU.  When I first came to Tulsa, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to join a fraternity.  I was sure, however, that I wanted to have a close group of friends who would help make my college experience everything I had always hoped it would be.  I wanted to meet guys I could golf with on a Saturday morning, guys I could play FIFA with after a long day of studying, and guys I could count on for support if I needed them or if they needed me.  I found this here at the University of Tulsa.  I found all of this at Lambda Chi Alpha.

After joining Lambda Chi, I soon realized it was one of the best decisions I had ever made!  As a freshman still adjusting to college, I suddenly had friends and mentors who helped guide me along the way.  A big concern for me going into college was being able to maintain my GPA; I soon learned this was not an issue at Lambda Chi.  This fraternity has had the highest GPA on the row for four out of the past five semesters, achieving a higher average than any other fraternity or male group on campus.

I want to emphasize, though, that this definitely does not come at the cost of our social scene!  In fact, each semester we host several date functions with every sorority on campus, as well as hosting multiple registered parties in the Fall and Spring.  In addition, we have numerous brotherhood events each semester where we go paintballing, hiking, camping, etc.

We pride ourselves in being widely known as respectful, genuine leaders on campus.  Each brother in our house has the duty to uphold Lambda Chi’s Seven Core Values:  Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Service and Stewardship, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage.  We exemplify these values in our everyday lives, whether it be in the form of weekly trips to the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma or rising to the challenge of assuming leadership responsibilities in a multitude of different organizations outside of Greek Life.  Indeed, we have men involved in a wide variety of organizations, ranging from student government to TU Treks.

Every brother is also involved in at least two campus organizations outside of the fraternity.  We have ten brothers in Student Association - the highest number of any fraternity on campus.  The Student Association President is also a Lambda Chi.  We have five University Ambassadors and multiple Orientation Leaders as well as three Presidential Scholars within our chapter. With our involvement in campus leadership and our duty to uphold our Seven Core Values, we are one of the most renowned organizations on campus!

If you are interested in learning more about campus or Greek life prior to your arrival at TU, please feel free to contact me (see number below).  We look forward to meeting you very soon; once again, congratulations on your acceptance into the University of Tulsa!

Sincerely,

Logan Hibbs, ΛΧΑ Recruitment Chairman
